Here's the Winner of the Pedro J. Morales Prize for the year 2003.
He is Robert Gibbs, and here he is savouring the good news (and whatever he had in his mouth at the time) when we surprised him with it at our club's monthly meeting.
This posting is a bit of a boast as we at Bonsai Barbados won it last year as well.

And how it looks now.
By the way it's a collected Clerodendron aculeatum. They are native to Barbados and most of the West Indian islands as well as parts of North and South America. From what I can remember it must be about 10-12" above the rim of the pot.

Bonsai Barbados members are looking forward to the competition when it comes up again in 2005. We've got a lot of other worthy members and trees so if you want to beat us you've got to come good! :)

Very nice tree. It looked like a variegated Pithecellobium dulce to my eyes. Congratulations.
