My problem importing into the USA is the current USDA regulations make any legal import almost impossible.
The tree, Pemphis, would need to be in the USA for me to get it.

Hi Gadiel,
To start pemphis, you can use mix of 80 % sand and 20 % humus as the bonsai mix. To germinate it is better if you puta thin layer of humus on top of the mix. Spray it several times a day. The drainage must be good. Put in a bit shady place, like near your big bonsai will be good in the beginning. I hope you will be succesful.

No Paul. You can plant them directly on the sand mixed with some humus. Do not forget to spray them several time a day, especially when they are stil young. Good luck.
